applications

Six measurements, one core.

Five government mission classes and one commercial market, served by one static, field-widened optical core. Heritage cites the open literature; the company's own architecture is described under agreement.

  1. 01

    Satellite-QKD ground receivers

Single-photon collection from a turbulence-broadened downlink under daylight solar background.

    Who it serves
Defense and civil space quantum-communications programs; ground-segment integrators; optical terminal builders
    Heritage
Satellite quantum key distribution demonstrated in orbit (Micius, 2017); daylight operation as the recognised limit on key rate.

  2. 02

    Quantum test and measurement

High-étendue collection of weak nonclassical light that preserves photon statistics and entanglement visibility.

    Who it serves
Defense and federal science sponsors of quantum research; quantum hardware developers; laboratories and instrument makers
    Heritage
Static interferometry's loss and phase-stability advantages apply directly to nonclassical light; instruments for this class are in design.

  3. 03

    Doppler lidar and remote sensing

Weak velocity-shifted returns collected over large solid angles and resolved at the sub-picometre level.

    Who it serves
Defense research laboratories; civil space and Earth-science agencies; atmospheric and energy research programs
    Heritage
MIGHTI aboard NASA's ICON spacecraft (launched 2019); WINDII on UARS (1991–2003); Brillouin asymmetric receivers for ocean lidar in development at NASA.

  4. 04

    Standoff Raman, CBRNE and process

Large search volumes at high sensitivity, and Raman through packaging: a field-widened receiver collects the whole illuminated volume rather than a slit's worth of it.

    Who it serves
Chemical and biological defense programs; homeland-security screening; naval research
    Heritage
The founder's standoff spatial heterodyne Raman instruments, 2017–2021: time-resolved measurement with no entrance slit; remote Raman at 18 m. See the provenance timeline.

  5. 05

    Missile tracking by Doppler emission

Wide field-of-regard emission collection with a simultaneous Doppler history at high resolving power.

    Who it serves
    Missile-defense and space-based sensing programs
    Heritage
Doppler asymmetric heritage as above; the technique's original application was emission-line spectroscopy at ultraviolet wavelengths (1992).

  6. 06

    Process-analytical Raman

Throughput-limited measurements inside regulated process lines: faster line clearance at the same sensitivity, or deeper sensitivity in the same acquisition window.

    Who it serves
Analyzer OEMs; pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers through them
    Heritage
In-line Raman analyzers are established in pharmaceutical and chemical process control; a higher-étendue core raises their throughput without changing their form. Instruments for this class are in design.
    Discuss this measurement

Interferometer cores are available at the component level to analyzer OEMs and optical terminal builders.
